Stumptown Coffee Roasters nailed it with this one.

Although Stumptown Coffee already has a whole bunch of delicious RTD cold brew coffee options, this coconut-infused cold brew might take the cake over all of them.

So what does “Coconut Cold Brew” mean?

Well, not much really. It’s basically just coconut cream added to Stumptown’s already world-famous cold brew coffee. The cold brew coffee is brewed overnight 24 hours through the immersion technique and then filtered.

The ingredients are really simple: room temperature water, delicious Stumptown-roasted coffee, raw cane sugar, and coconut cream. So this is basically your best bet if don’t like straight cold brew and/or don’t drink dairy.

About Stumptown Coffee Roasters

If you don’t know about Stumptown Coffee by now then it’s time to climb out from under that rock.

Stumptown Coffee Roasters out of Portland, Oregon is one of the top specialty coffee companies in the world. They are pioneers in the “third wave” coffee movement and they were recently acquired by Peet’s Coffee last October (2015).

Stumptown also owns the domain, so you know that they’re serious about cold brewed coffee.

Stumptown Coconut Cold Brew

As far as taste goes, the Stumptown Cold Brew Coconut was an easy 5 out of 5 for me.

I was totally blown away by this one and thought that the coconut cream made something that was already good, much, much better. This was especially surprising because I’m not usually a fan of additives with my coffee.

In fact, the first time I picked up Stumptown’s Cold Brew with Milk (one of their offerings) I thought that the milk was going to mask the cold brew flavor, especially because I thought the cold brew was sweet enough by itself and that it didn’t need anything added to it, especially not milk and sugar.

But it ended up being my favorite of Stumptown’s cold brew offerings. I didn’t think anything Stumptown put out later was gonna  surpass it either, and frankly, nothing did (for awhile).

From their Nitro cold brew to their cold brew with chocolate to their Winter Cheer, nothing came close to the milk and sugar version.

But then I tried the Coconut Cold Brew. I think it’s safe to say that it is now probably my favorite Stumptown cold brew coffee drink.

If I were vegan I’d be even more stoked because Stumptown’s Coconut Cold brew makes you practically forget that milk even exists. The coconut cream is truly the perfect substitute.

Score: 5

I’m not gonna lie…this stuff is relatively expensive. Five bucks at Whole Foods…I couldn’t believe it when I was rung up at the register.

And look, I’m used to $4 for many of these RTD coffee drinks. In fact, most of Stumptown’s cold brew drinks clock in at the $4 mark.

But this one was $5, which seemed asinine to me (probably because I’ve been anchored to the $4 price tag).  I was pretty much rolling my eyes all the way home until I finally tried the delicious concoction.

Score: 2

Stumptown Coconut Cold Brew Ingredients

As far as ingredients go, Stumptown’s Coconut Cold Brew is pretty simple. Water, coffee, cane sugar, and coconut cream. Obviously the coffee and water are super important ingredients, but the coconut cream is definitely what takes this drink to the next level.

The downside is the high calorie, fat, and sugar content. It’s probably not any worse than your typical latte, but you don’t go drinking this for better health, that’s for sure.

In the end, very simple ingredients…gotta give Stumptown a little credit on this one.

Score: 3.5

Well, Stumptown’s Coconut Cold Brew is not going to be as easy to find as their other cold brew offerings given that it’s still relatively new. But my guess is that by the time you read this review it’s going to be much more readily available, perhaps as much as all of the other Stumptown cold brew offerings.

So I’m going to give it a 4 for now, but that could easily change if I start seeing it on more shelves.

Not available online at the moment.

Score: 4

Should You Try Stumptown’s Coconut Cold Brew

So is Stumptown’s Coconut Cold Brew worth the $5 price tag?

Well, if you like cold brew coffee you should at the least try Stumptown’s original cold brew, although I think it’s also safe to recommend this Coconut flavor for first-timers.

For those who are dairy-free and/or vegan and looking for something that’s similar to say, an iced latte, you’ll definitely want to give this a try.

I mean, the only people I can think of that wouldn’t like Stumptown’s Coconut Cold Brew are people that have a strong aversion to coconut to begin with.

Take my fiancee for example…she can’t stand coconut. I thought it was just coconut water that she hated, but when she tried Stumptown’s Coconut Cold Brew she let out an audible “BLECHHH” and put it right back in the fridge.

So Stumptown’s Coconut Cold Brew obviously isn’t for everyone, but I personally thought it was fantastic.

Anyways…not for coconut haters or for those on a tight budget or diet, but almost everybody else I think is going to be pretty satisfied with this one.

Just stumbled upon it yesterday and thought I hit the motherload.
Definitely smooth and delicious, and more of a treat for me, considering the sugar and calories. Looking forward to trying it as a white russian also!
